Students grow green thumbs, life skills

September 8th, 2016 was exciting for both the RGU and Oakland High School. I believe it is also a proud day for the community. Last year, our team created our first fundraising campaign and successfully raised over $1000 from community members. We purchased a Tower Garden which was demonstrated at a local restaurant for several months before schools re-opened. The vertical aeroponic (soil-less) growing system was then donated to Oakland High School. One of our team members reached out to her connections at Wlfi 18 News to pitch the story. Their reporter, Jamie Long, showed up to the scene. This ended up being a bigger story than we all thought: Full story here: (watch video)
